The First High School Affiliated to Central China Normal University (referred to as "The First High School Affiliated to Central China Normal University") was formerly known as the Central South Experimental Workers and Peasants Express Middle School. It was founded in September 1950 by famous revolutionary educators such as Pan Zinian and Zhao Juntao. In 1985, it was renamed to its current name. Former President Li Xiannian was appointed as the first honorary principal and inscribed the name of the school.
